Physician

Dr. Nemeth is an interventional spine specialist. He was trained in a conservative approach to spine care and to appropriately recognize when surgical intervention is necessary.  He believes in a diagnostic approach in order to find the exact cause of your problem.  Dr. Nemeth's conservative approach enables him to provide targeted therapy so that the maximal benefit can be achieved. 

Daniel S. Nemeth, MD
Physician/Owner

 

Dr. Nemeth grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan in Northwest Indiana.  He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. From there, he attended medical school at St. Matthew's University on Grand Cayman. Dr. Nemeth completed a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, IL. It was there that he developed an interest in spine care and in performing interventional spinal procedures. He went on to complete an Interventional Spine Fellowship in Phoenix, AZ at The Orthopedic Clinic Association (TOCA). Dr. Nemeth is a board certified Physiatrist who has been trained to become an expert in the field of spine care and to master interventional techniques throughout the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.  Dr. Nemeth founded Signe Spine & Rehab in October 2014. Away from the office, Dr. Nemeth enjoys spending time with his wife, Emily, daughter, Anderson, and their golden doodle, Cayman.

Physician Assistants

Dr. Nemeth utilizes Physician Assistants skilled in orthopedics and conservative, interventional care. He trains his Physician Assistants in his conservative approach to spine care and how to appropriately recognize when surgical intervention is necessary.  Dr. Nemeth carefully documents his plan of care for each patient, so that his Physician Assistant can assist during follow up appointments and help guide patients to the next step in Dr. Nemeth's plan of care for them. Physician Assistants have complete access to each plan of care and communicate with Dr. Nemeth each step of the way, so patients receive complete care from a highly qualified team of medical professionals. 

Michael Winter, PA-C
Physician Assistant

 

Michael joined Signe Spine & Rehab as Physician Assistant to Dr. Nemeth in July 2019.  Michael grew up in Mobile, Alabama. He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and then his Masters in Health Sciences and Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Alabama.  Michael has spent the last 8 years working as a Physician Assistant to both Orthopedic and Interventional Spine specialists in southern Louisiana. Michael recently moved to South Carolina from Louisiana with his wife, Victoria, and daughter, Elizabeth. Michael attends to Dr. Nemeth's established patients, so patients can be seen in the office as quickly as possible. Dr. Nemeth and Michael communicate extensively to ensure patients receive comprehensive care from all levels.

Robin Gunn, PA-C
Physician Assistant

 

Robin joined Signe Spine & Rehab as Physician Assistant to Dr. Nemeth in May 2016.  Robin grew up in rural West Virginia.  She received both her undergraduate degree and Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Alderson Broaddus College in Philippi, West Virginia. After meeting her husband, Jason, in West Virgina, she moved to Chicago where she spent 3 years as an Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant at two different orthopedic clinics. While Robin enjoyed her time in Chicago, she and her husband decided to settle in Charleston, South Carolina. Robin has 4 young children, ages 12, 11, 9, and 7 so she stays very busy. Robin sees most of Dr. Nemeth's post-injection follow-ups. Dr. Nemeth documents in detail his plan for each patient depending on the result of their injections, so Robin is able to asses each patient's progress and make recommendations moving forward.

Staff

Dr. Nemeth's staff are readily available and excited to assist patients throughout their treatment at Signe Spine & Rehab.  The staff are trained in all aspects of patient care and truly enjoy watching the improvement in the patients' daily lives as they progress with Dr. Nemeth.  If a patient ever has any questions or concerns they will be addressed immediately by the professional and caring staff of Signe Spine & Rehab.

Nicohl Cave
Practice Manager

 

Nicohl joined Signe Spine & Rehab as Practice Manager in May 2018. Nicohl recently moved from Chicago back to Mount Pleasant after spending 3 years in Illinois.  Although Nicohl spent most of her life in Southeastern Pennsylvania, she has quickly made South Carolina her home.  She enjoys spending her weekends outside, enjoying the beautiful lowcountry, with her husband, Mark, and their two dogs Hercules and Sullivan.  Nicohl is experienced in managing the daily challenges in a medical office. If you ever have a problem, Nicohl will see to it that you are attended to promptly and with the personal attention you will become accustomed to during your visits at Signe Spine & Rehab.  Do not hesitate to bring any questions or concerns to her attention.

Kaysinda Polite
Medical Assistant

 

Kaysinda joined Signe Spine & Rehab as Medical Assistant in March 2015. Kaysinda is currently raising 3 sons with her husband, Orlando that serves our country in the Army Reserve.  Kaysinda will help with the triage process by taking your vital signs, determining your chief complaint, and preparing you for your exam.  She will also help determine if any previous treatments provided relief. She will communicate any and all information to Dr. Nemeth.  You may also note she will assist with any in-office procedures.  It is her goal to make sure you are able to communicate your needs to Dr. Nemeth and make sure you feel comfortable throughout your entire visit.

 Jocelyn Patterson
Medical Receptionist

Jocelyn joined Signe Spine & Rehab as the medical receptionist in July 2018.  She previously worked at Southeastern Spine Institute as a Front Desk representative.  Prior to working in the healthcare industry, Jocelyn worked in banking for 9 years. Her banking experience included time as a teller, time in sales, and 3 years as Branch Manager.  Outside of work, Jocelyn enjoys spending time with family, shopping, and taking care of her 16 year old cat, Cali.  Jocelyn has lived and traveled all around the world learning something new about people each new place she lands.  She will be the warm, welcoming face greeting you at each appointment ready to provide assistance with anything you may need.  She will answer your calls, find the answer to any questions you may have, and check you in at each appointment.

Cameron Blanchard
Medical Receptionist

Cameron joined Signe Spine & Rehab as the medical receptionist in January 2019.  Cameron recently moved from Chicago to Mount Pleasant after spending 1.5 years in Illinois.  Although Cameron spent most of her life in Southeastern Pennsylvania, she has quickly made South Carolina her home. Prior to working in the healthcare industry, Cameron has worked in customer service for 4 years. Outside of work, Cameron enjoys spending time with family, shopping, music, and socializing.  She also enjoys any type of friendly competition. Challenge her to a game of mini-golf and she might just take you up on the offer.  She will be the friendly face checking you out after your appointment, ready to find an appointment date & time that will work best for your schedule.  She will answer your calls, find the answer to any questions you may have, and check you out at each appointment.

Joy Cannon
Registered Nurse

 

Joy joined the Signe Spine & Rehab team as the office RN in February 2018.  She had previously worked for Concentra Urgent Care for 22 years specializing in clinic management, urgent care, and occupational health.  Prior to Concentra, Joy had 13 years of experience working in the Emergency Room.  She enjoys shopping, going to the beach, and traveling to Florida with her husband of 22 years, Tommy, and their little Bichon, Bailey.  She is one of 3 sassy, southern sisters and loves catching up on the phone with her daughter, Jessica, in Connecticut.  Joy is handy in and out of the office, and she will ensure you have a comfortable experience before and after any procedures in the office.

Jane Hooper
Registered Nurse

 

Jane joined the Signe Spine & Rehab team as an office RN in February 2019.  She lives on the Isle of Palms with her husband, Robert. She has two adult daughters that are thriving in the lowcountry.  Jane spent years working in East Cooper's ambulatory surgery department assisting in many capacities during her time there.  Jane enjoys spending her free time with her husband on the Isle of Palms at the beach, around the island, and at the local restaurants.  In the office, Jane will ensure you have a comfortable experience before and after any procedures in the office. She assists the office with anything and everything and is always available to assist patients and co-workers.

Patsy Brown
Radiology Tech

 

Patsy joined Signe Spine and Rehab in March of 2018 as our "picture taker."  She moved to beautiful Mount Pleasant over 20 years ago from Juneau, Alaska with her husband, Eric.  She previously worked at Roper St. Francis for over 15 years.  Outside of work, Patsy can be found cheering on her Ohio sports teams, spoiling her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Scarlet, and enjoying a variety of interests from making crafts to archery.  The Charleston area is her home, and she plans on retiring here.  In the office, Patsy is warm and welcoming.  She will assist you with a smile during intake, x-rays, procedures, and anything else you may need while at the office.

Hugh Klumb
Radiology Tech
Hugh joined Signe Spine and Rehab in March of 2018 as our Radiology Tech on Fridays.  Hugh was born and raised in South Carolina.  He lives in Mount Pleasant with his wife, Ashley, and their two lovely children.  He also works at Roper Mount Pleasant Hospital in the Radiology Department, so you may recognize him if you've had any imaging at Roper.  He enjoys watching soccer, especially when his kids are playing in their many tournaments. In the office, Hugh will assist you with kindness during intake, x-rays, procedures, and anything else you may need while at the office.
